Now with the weather changing for the better (not in Boston, unless you rented a kayak or pontoon contraption of some type) colleges and their students around the country are gearing up for finals…o yeah, and SPRING FLING! Artist agreements are being finalized and announced, frats are starting to gear up for Greek events, and sorority ladies are dressing down. I couldn’t be better right? The answer is no, it doesn’t get any better. However, your Spring Fling could end up being a Spring FAIL, and that is something no one wants to see. It usually ends with someone passed up on a pissed and puked on mattress on top of strange roof after wandering (conscious decision?) into traffic. I mean, it’s not every day that you get to be – no scratch that – have to be just plain, old-fashioned drunk. All before 10 am. So here’s what I’ve learned will guarantee that you day will teeter on the edge of success and Spring FAIL.
Will Spring Fling be as wild as JMU’s Springfest Block Party?
If you haven’t seen it all ready, check out some of the photos from JMU’s annual Springfest Block Party. Shit got real, that’s for sure. BroBible has a pretty intense write-up smattered with video that you should also take a look at. Note especially in the 6:00 video the frequent “USA! USA!” chants. If we’re the first thing you check when you wake up in the morning, BREAKING NEWS!!!! Rockers OK Go, and rappers Drake and our boy Sam Adams are playing Tufts Spring Fling this year. We dig it. New Spring Fling Policy shows that Tufts simply doesn’t grasp the “drinking problem”
The Tufts Administration recently announced changes to the Spring Fling alcohol policy aimed to reduce alcohol related incidents. In attempt to stop students from over-indulging during the concert, of-age students will no longer be able to bring up to a six-pack of beer into the concert. Now we’ve got no legitimate backing to this besides an inconclusive tour date on Drake’s MySpace and the general rumor mill, but word on the street Drake will be playing at Tufts for Spring Fling.
