W2FY Recommends: Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs”

I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while, but I’ve been busy moving up to school. Listening to it in the mean time, I have only grown more fond of this album. The songs about sprawling towns and cities are the perfect soundtrack for driving up to school. The songs are beautiful, catchy and get better with more listens. I literally can’t choose a favorite song- its seriously solid from start to finish, and I definitely recommend listening to …

If you guys have been reading the site at all over the last few weeks, you’ll have noticed our Freestyle Fridays with e-dubble. Dude’s our favorite rapper right now, with his slick freestyles over some pretty killer beats. We’re such big fans, we asked do do an interview with him. We’ve got plans for a video interview in the next few months, but for now, here’s our email exchange with the man himself, where he talks about the FF …

Is the Trevor Hall Pandora station the chillest station of all time?

Quick answer: yes. So fucking chill. Been listening to it at work the last few days and it makes things tolerable. Just me over here, researching industry influencers and chilling out to “Under the Blankets.” NBD, but this is a totally cool and awesome work environment.

Watch this: Two German musicians play classical music on vuvuzelas

I don’t understand any of this, but Ravel’s Bolero is one of my favorite songs of all time. No joke, shit’s absolutely killer. Anyway, I’m really impressed with these guy’s mastery of the vuvuzela. I’ve always said Germans really blow. Ha, I’m hilarious.

Thirsty Thursday Playlist: World Cup Singalong

One thing I love about soccer is the hooliganism.  I went to a Man U v. Chelsea game in England a few years ago and it was nuts, I can’t even imagine how crazy the World Cup would be. I remember whenever songs would be played over the loudspeaker, everyone drunkenly sang them at the top of their lungs; kind of like what happens when the Blackhawks score a goal and Chelsea Dagger is played. So, I compiled a playlist …

Sound off: The best site to listen to music online

Since I’m now a full fledged member of the working world, I spend a lot of time listen to music at my desk. Since I’ve been doing this for three weeks now, I consider myself a full on expert, obviously. I’m pretty sure the best place to this is Pandora–it’s basically endless, and you get a good variety. But, I could be wrong. I’ve heard people preach for Viva-Radio, bouncing between YouTube videos, mixtape.com, and dozens of others. So vote …

Thoughts from the Stall, pt. IV

Just gonna keep this one short and sweet, cause I’ve just been writing blog posts all day. NBD, but my job also entails doing exactly what I would be doing anyway… entertaining the masses. I’m a natural entertainer. It’s what I do. So, jumping right into things: I’m pretty sure the entire idea behind Pandora is not a “music genome project” or any of that bullshit. I’ll tell you what it is: trying to get back to one single song. …

Gotta love “College Girls”

This song won Brobible’s remix contest. I dig it. I really like two lines especially: “do I like college girls? hell yes, fuck yes” and “her name was Elisa but she’s definitely a moaner.” Two instant classics we can all relate to.
