Okay, first off, Julian Casablancas has his tenses wrong. This should be in the subjunctive mood, and “I wish it were Christmas today” not “I wish it was Christmas today.” Now don’t ever tell me my English degree is going to be useless again.
But, the song’s pretty good, I guess, and fitting ’cause tomorrow’s Christmas and all. I don’t celebrate the holiday, per se, but I do celebrate the occasion.
(That means I’ll still get drunk with you, btdubs.)
