Sometimes You Just Have To Prove It

I can’t remember how many times that me or my friends have made a ridiculous claim about something we could do. For instance, during a night of solid drinking I told Chef that, “I could throw up right now.” Chef replied “Prove it!!” After about 0.7 seconds of thinking about it, I decided that I would prove it and pulled the trigger all over the front steps of the frat house we were standing in front of. Don’t worry, it was our frat house so no one tried to kill us after I did that. I then pushed The Human into the pile of bile but that is besides the point.

Sometimes you just have to do something that you claim you can do. If you tell someone that you love cake so much that you could eat the entire cake on your birthday then you may have to actually prove that you can do this. So enters the “Challenge Flag.”

For all of you girls out there and guys that watch ice dancing instead of football, the Challenge Flag is something that the coach of each team can throw signaling that he wants the previous play challenged. Sometimes the referees do not get the call right and if a coach thinks that the call as wrong and a change will benefit his team he will throw a red flag and the ref will look at a replay. This concept can also be applied to ridiculous shit that one of your friends says he can do.

Chef came up with this concept and you don’t necessarily need a red flag for it. Carrying a red flag with you everywhere you go is quite strange and totally flamboyant so it is recommended that you just say “Challenge Flag!! I challenge that” or something equally as dumb. This puts your friend in quite a predicament. He can either A) admit he lied about what he said he could do or B) actually do what he said and prove to the world that he is kind of a badass. If you watch your friend chug a 40 just to prove a point to you then you have to give him some credit.

Think about it; what would you do when put in this situation? Will you step up to the challenge or will you bitch out? Maybe you will think twice about your claims before you make them. Whatever the case may be, challenge the shit your friends say. I vomited all over some steps. A bunch of my friends have done other shit that I can’t even remember now. What will you end up doing?

sometimes you just need proof. The guy with the biggest stones is always the one who can carry the biggest stones up from the bottom of the river.
