With Obama about to propose a 3.8 trillion dollar budget, I would like to take this time to pause and imagine how much that is. Here are some other ways that he could spend all of that money:
- He could give use that money to give 12,500 dollars to each person.
- He could pay off every household’s credit card debt and almost all outstanding consumer loans.
- He could send 144.6 million people to college for a year, or 36.1 million people to college for four years.
- Pay off 30% of the national debt.
- Pay off all of Africa’s debt.
- Buy 760 billion packs of cigarettes.
- Buy 200 billion pizzas, if they were the 555 deal from dominoes and left 15% tip.
- Buy 7.8 trillion condoms or 95 billion 28-day boxes of birth control pills
- Buy 73 billion tickets to Disney World.
- Or buy 253 billion 30-racks of natural light or ice. That is 833 30-racks per person.
So while these statistics may be a little crazy, we have to remember that we don’t live in a communist country so this can never happen. It still feels great to imagine all the things that you can do with that amount of money, even if it were only 1000 bucks.
